10:00p.m. - 11:30p.m. (Main Stage) - MAGIC SLIM and THE TEARDROPS

Magic Slim is a living blues legend who migrated from the South to Chicago during the 50s
and 60s. Slim plays raw intense blues, a style that uses no pedals or other electronic gadgets to
get his sound, it's just him, and Slim has paved the way for rock as well as modern blues. Slim
has been busy traveling to the juke joints in Mississippi to the nightclubs in Chicago and to
concert stages throughout the world, he has built up a die hard fan base within it. Slim and
The Teardrops performances have become legendary, and they play the blues with an
undeniable intensity that will leave you out of breath, lying on the floor and in need for more.
8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. (Main Stage) - EDDIE TURNER

"If anybody ever went down to the Crossroads and let the Devil tune his
guitar it was probably Eddie Turner. Man, you get chills every time the guy
strikes a note! And the expressions he makes while he's talking out each
lick leave one convinced he's channelling other-worldly ancestral demi-gods."

"One night in the late seventies, I caught an episode of Saturday Night Live for the first time.
Not only did I become hooked on the original Not Ready for Primetime Players,
I also became hooked on the musical guest that evening.
Leon Redbone sat alone on the stage with his guitar and sang "Ain't Misbehavin'"
and I was knocked by his performance. I had to hear more! "
"What I really like about him is that its almost impossible to classify the music he performs.
Is it blues? Is it old time New Orleans jazz? Is it country? Is it folk? Whatever it is,
Mr. Redbone is entertaining, mysterious and just out and out cool! "
5:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. (Main Stage) - LOUISIANA RED

Louisiana Red (born Iverson Minter) started his music career early, recording for Chess
around the age of 13. By the late 50s, after a stint in the Army, he was back in the biz gigging with the likes of John Lee Hooker. John Lee, and other blues legends that worked with Red - B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins, Elmore James - all had a significant influence on him but Red certainly developed his own style. One of the few living original purveyors of Delta blues, Red channels his influences into a sound that is improvisational at times yet intense
- expressing his feelings of the moment - drawing the listener in to his earnest and sometimes vulnerable world. Almost 20 years ago Louisiana Red moved to Germany. In 1983, he was awarded the W.C. Handy Award for Best Traditional Blues Artist. This year he is returning to the U.S. to tour select blues festivals and select club dates - you won't want to miss him!

STEVE McLAIN AND
THE JEFFERSON COUNTY GREEN BAND

"The Jefferson County Green Band with frontman Steve McLain has been working it's way
through the area for several years and is one of the most recognized names in the area.
On July 20th they expanded even more, opening for national act Blues Traveler"
"The JCGB provided about an hour of entertainment for those anxiously awaiting
John Popper and the rest of the band" "The thing is, the opening band
probably had as much of an audience as the "Big Boys".

2007 International Blues Challenge Semi Finalist Guitar wizard Shawn Kellerman
is poised to join the inner circle of musicians
who define modern blues. Traditional forms are reinterpreted — a not-so-subtle union of past and present delivered with ferocious authenticity.
Shawn understood from the beginning that true blues is a cultural tradition, passed down directly from today's masters to the next generation. As a result, Shawn spent 5 years in Mississippi and Washington D.C., living, playing and touring with such notable blues artists as Mel Brown, Deborah Coleman, and Bobby Rush. Shawn was a regular on top draw blues stages playing the Chitlin' Circuit and the Five-Star Touring Scene and has performed hundreds of international gigs in over 20 countries.
